Bed bugs are one of the most difficult pests to eliminate due to their ability to hide in crevices and their rapid reproduction. To combat this infestation, it is essential to follow a detailed treatment plan and use the appropriate products for each level of infestation. Here is a step-by-step guide to getting rid of bed bugs.
Steps to eliminate bed bugs effectively:
Step 1: Assess the Level of Infestation
Before starting treatment, assess the severity of the infestation:
● Initial infestation (normal): Few signs of bed bugs, such as light bites, some blood stains on sheets, and few exoskeletons.
● High infestation: Abundant presence of visible bedbugs, scattered excrement, characteristic sweet odor and recurrent bites.
Recommended Products:
● For initial (normal) infestation: Use the Complete Bed Bug Elimination Kit .
● For heavy infestation: Use theComplete Bed Bug Elimination Kit - Heavy Infestation .
Step 2: Prepare the Environment
- Wash all fabrics:
- Wash sheets, blankets, pillowcases, curtains and bed linen in hot water (minimum 60°C) to eliminate bed bugs and eggs.
- Vacuum all surfaces:
- Vacuum mattresses, sofas, rugs, baseboards and corners of the room.
- After vacuuming, dispose of the vacuum bag immediately in a sealed plastic bag.
- Organize the space:
- Get rid of unnecessary items or severely infested furniture.
- Keep the environment clean and clutter-free to facilitate treatment.
Step 3: Apply our Complete Bed Bug Removal Kit
Correct use of the kit is essential for effective treatment. Combining the products is essential to achieve the desired effectiveness in exterminating bed bugs.
For Initial Infestation (Normal):
With the Complete Kit to Eliminate Bed Bugs . The treatment for 1 room is as follows:
1) Allow the Diptron Extra Strong Insecticide to act by fumigating the middle of the room for greater reach.
2) After 12 hours of the safety period, air the room and vacuum.
3) Then, dilute Draker Insecticide (50ml = 1 bottle) with Provecthor insecticide (30ml) in water . Apply to the mattress, bed base, furniture, skirting boards and cracks.
The mixture of the two products is safe because Provecthor is chemical-free and toxic. It will help create a “freezing” effect around the insect.
4) Repeat the treatment after 7 days.
The KIT corresponds to the treatment of 1 room. In case of infestation in other rooms, the same treatment should be repeated.
TIP: During treatment, it is recommended to apply Provecthor whenever there is a need to immediately immobilize the bedbug, to prevent a new reinfestation. Dilution: 20 ml Provecthor in 1 liter of water.
For High Infestation:
With the Complete Kit to Eliminate Bed Bugs - High Infestation, you must comply with the following shock treatment:
1) Add concentrated Diptron insecticide (50ml = 1/2 package in 1.5L of water) with Provecthor insecticide (30ml). Apply to the mattress, bed base, furniture, baseboards and cracks and anywhere where bedbugs may be.
The mixture of the two products is safe because Provecthor is chemical-free and toxic. It will help create a “freezing” effect around the insect.
2) Then, let the Diptron Extra Strong insecticide act by fumigating the middle of the room for greater reach.
3) After 12 hours of the safety period, air the room and vacuum.
4) Repeat the treatment after 7 days.
The KIT corresponds to the treatment of 1 room. In case of infestation in other rooms, the same treatment should be repeated.
Step 5: Prevent Reinfestations
After eliminating bed bugs , take preventive measures to prevent the problem from returning:
- Vacuum regularly: Include vacuuming in your cleaning routine, especially on mattresses and furniture.
- Inspect luggage: After traveling, check bags and clothes before taking them into the house.
- Avoid used furniture: Make sure second-hand items are free of bed bugs before purchasing them.
